Maria del Carmen Corral, 66, of Abilene, TX passed away on Friday December 22nd, 2017. Visitation services will be scheduled for Wednesday, December 27th at 6PM, Rosary at 7 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 28th at 11AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 826 Cottonwood St, Abilene TX. Burial will follow thereafter in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene.
Maria was born February 7th, 1951 in Durango, Mexico to Jose de La Luz Martinez and Maria de la Luz Bretado. She married Magdaleno Corral in 1970. They both moved to Chicago, IL in 1978 with their first son Jose and had three more children, Martha, Roel, and Sonia. They lived there for 23 years working hard to raise their children. They both retired to Abilene, Texas in 2001. Her husband passed away in 2002.
She was a faithful servant of God, an active parishioner of St. Francis Catholic Church. She served in many ministries including the choir, as a Eucharistic minister with the Legion of Mary.
Maria is survived by two sons Jose Corral and Roel Corral; 2 daughters, Martha Salgado and Sonia Banda; four grandsons; three granddaughters; one great grandson all in Abilene, Texas.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Magdaleno and both her parents.
Such a beautiful lady inside and out. Praying for all of the corral family may god comfort you during this difficult time. Sonia & baby Jordan I love you so much.

A beautiful person inside and out! Words cannot express the sadness her departure has caused us all. So many wonderful memories of her especially growing up.
