Bennie was born March 31, 1934, to William and Gladys Whitehead in Bard, New Mexico. He married the love of his life, Frances Ann Delay, in 1952. In May of 2018, they would have celebrated 66 years of marriage. Bennie was a fan of the Wylie Bulldogs, ACU Wildcats basketball, and Artesia Bulldogs football, where he served as the teams Chaplin for several seasons. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
In early years, he worked in the oil & gas industry, then moved on and attended Sunset School of Preaching, in Lubbock, Texas. He was blessed to preach across several states, with his greatest joy, coming from an invitation to preach in Jerusalem, on his 40th birthday.
Bennie is preceded in death by his parents; his infant daughter, Terri Ann Whitehead; and three siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; three children, Debbie Clifton and her husband Claud; Larry Whitehead and his wife Pam, and Christy Millikin; grandchildren, Mysti, Bren, Terah, Trey, Ryan, and Laine; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Whitehead and Irvin Whitehead; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Oh Uncle Bennie, I will remember you always! You were such a calming voice in all the chaos and the beautiful words that you spoke at Nanny's funeral I will always remember. The world is a better place that you were in it! Big Hugs to you and your family! Please say "HI" to Nanny and Granny in Heaven! They are waiting with open arms....and I'm sure with buttered bread, fried chicken (but we all knew it was rabbit) and unconditional love!
