Abdon Sena

Abdon "Chucho" Garcia Sena passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022. Abdon was born on July 30, 1936, in Tamaulipas, Mexico to the late Encarnacion Sena and Maria del Refugio Garcia. He immigrated to the United States at a very young age, eventually settling permanently and becoming a U.S. citizen. His occupation as a forklift driver took him to several produce warehouses in Florida as well as Indiana.
Although Abdon was known for being quiet and discreet, he always enjoyed a good laugh and conversation. Most days, he could be found working on his classic cars or driving them around town. His daily routine included regular outings to local delis and restaurants. He also enjoyed occasional brisk walks at the park. His true love was family, especially doting on his beloved great-nieces and nephews. He loved surprising them with piggybanks full of coins, a long-time tradition of his. Other pastimes included watching tv and regular phone conversations with long-distance family and friends.
Abdon is preceded in death by his parents, Maria del Refugio Garcia and Encarnacion Sena Torres; as well as his siblings, Maxima Samilpa, Carmen Sena, Dora Molina, Paula Rodriguez, and Adolfo Sena.
He is survived by extended family and dear friends.
A visitation will be held 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2022, in the Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene TX. Funeral will be held Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 1:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.
