Abraham Moreno

Abraham Moreno (75) went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 29, 2020 in Abilene, Texas. A visitation will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 6-8PM with a Rosary beginning at 7PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30AM Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by a burial at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.

Abraham Moreno was born August 13, 1945 to Antonio and Jesusita Moreno in Loraine, Texas. Abraham graduated from Loraine High School and joined the Army shortly after. Abraham worked at Goosh Company where he met the love of his life and married her. He retired from the Abilene State Supported Living Center. He loved sports of all kinds and coached little league for many years. He enjoyed playing music with his band, hunting, fishing, and sitting on the porch telling old stories while enjoying a cold one. He was a devout Catholic and would spend many hours every day reading his bible and praying over his family. His favorite thing was spending time with his family and many Grandchildren. He would always say, “The only thing important in life is your health, your family, and your faith”. Abraham was a man with a heart of gold that touched the lives of so many.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Tony, Luis, and Christina Moreno.

Abraham is survived by his wife, Sally Moreno and his children, Anthony Moreno and wife, Nathan Moreno and wife, Priscilla Kirkland, Margie Castaneda, and Christopher Moreno; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Velasquez, Tanis Moreno, Arlene Alvarado, Raymond Moreno, Larry Moreno, Manuel Moreno; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
