Addie Snailum

Addie Jewell Snailum, 93, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in a local care center. A graveside service, with Reverend Kenneth Cox officiating, will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Weatherford, Texas, under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home.

Addie was born July 31, 1917 in Parker County, Texas to William P. and Callie Frazier Hutchins. Raised in Parker County, she attended the Mount Grove School. She married Thurman Snailum on August 22, 1933 in Tarrant County, Texas.

Spending most of her adult life in Arizona and Parker County, she moved to Abilene in 1999. Addie was a retired cosmetologist who had worked in Weatherford and Abilene and was a former resident of Carver Plaza Senior Complex.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 2 sisters, she is survived by two sisters, Sue Brinkley of Abilene and Juanita Ellis of Lancaster, California, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
