Alexander Mendoza Sr.

Alex Mendoza Sr., 63, passed away Saturday, August, 18, 2012 in Abilene. Visitation will be 6 PM, Monday, August 20, 2012 followed by a Rosary and prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, 2525 Westview Dr.
Alexander was born November 9, 1948 in Abilene, TX to Willie Sr. and Eva Juarez Mendoza. He joined the US Army and served his country for two years. He married Rebecca Soto in 1969 and they have celebrated 43 years of marriage. After being discharged from the army he attended TSTC in Sweetwater and became an automobile body man and painter. He worked for MM Auto works for 25 years until his retirement. He attended St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and adored his grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
Alex is survived by his wife, Becky daughter, Sally Jimenez and husband Joel son, Alex Mendoza Jr. five grandchildren, Allie Mendoza, Angel Luna, J.J. Jimenez, Caleb Dagenhart, Zeke Mendoza two great granddaughters, Makayla, and Layla four brothers, Albert, Bernabi and wife Hope, Johnny, and Raymond.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Willie Jr.
Pallbearers for the service will be Jack Niteo, Mike Soto, Chindo Soto, Michael Soto, Abe Martinez, and Tony Herrera.
