Doylene Moore

May 27, 1938 — September 25, 2024

Alice Doylene Moore, 86, was born in Seagraves, Texas on May 27, 1938, to Doyle and Mildred Ferrell. She went on to glory on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

While she was still very young her family moved to Plainview, TX where she met and married, after a six-week whirlwind romance, her best friend and soulmate, Skeet (Luther) Moore. They were married for 62 years before he passed in 2019. She raised three children, Debby, Cyil and Jana, who were all born in Plainview but each graduated from different high schools as she followed and supported her husband’s work endeavors from Plainview through, Shallowater, Dalhart, and Pearland, all while working in the banking industry as a teller and in customer service for nearly 30 years. She was a dedicated, loyal worker and friend that was loved by many. It was typical for her to get more Christmas presents each year from her many customers than from her own family. Skeet and Doylene retired to live out their days in Clyde, TX. Doylene was a friend to all and a faithful Christian that loved fiercely.

She was known to be fun and lighthearted until you “messed with her husband, children or pocketbook”, then you might be in trouble. She was mother to three, Debby, Cyil married to Tonya and Jana married to Dixon, grandmother to Mikel Mayden, James Mayden, Eric Moore, Kyrah Bailey and Vanalice Bailey and great grandmother to Nikki, Kristen, Alyson, Madison, Elsa, James Jr., Lucy, Trixie, Jeremiah and Josiah and great great grandmother to Jonathan, Colton, Cooper, Sophie and Evelyn. She has left a legacy of how to love and how to have a long, beautiful marriage. She is already dearly missed.

Doylene was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Edward Ferrell, Kenneth Ferrell, and sisters Helen Miller and Eloise Misso, a niece Kathy Tanner and a nephew Carl Misso. She is survived by her three children, two sisters, Billie Faye Lewis, Elinor Yerby and little brother Joe Ferrell and too many nieces and nephews to list.

In lieu of flowers the family would like any donations made to Hendrick Hospice.
