Mrs. Freeman was born January 14, 1940 in Hartsell, Alabama. The daughter of Howard and Lessie Nix. She graduated from Monroe High School in Albany, Georgia, attended Albany State College and Operating Technician School. She graduated from Saint Philips College in San Antonio, Texas. She worked at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Hendicks Medical Center, and as a nurse at Dyess AFB Hospital for over 20 years. She was a loyal church member of Antioch CME for over 30 years and served on both Stewardess and President of the Missionary Society Boards. She also was a proud member of the Honey Bees and the Purple Red Hatters Club in Abilene, Texas. She will be missed by all who encountered her. She was a supportive military wife who enjoyed traveling around that included Georgia, Kansas, and Texas. Her most exciting trip was in the Philippines including stopovers in Alaska and Hawaii.

Throughout her lifetime; this compassionate woman's first love was Jesus Christ, followed by her family, relatives, and her friends. She was a lover of Humanity.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Howard and Lessie Nix and her son, Carey Darrell Freeman.

Loving family members cherishing her memories that she leaves behind are her husband of 56 years, Elijah Freeman Jr. of Abilene; her two children: Son, Michael G. Freeman of Washington, DC and her daughter, Sherry L. Freeman of Arlington, Texas; her loving grandson, Michael N. Freeman of Vienna, Austria. Three Loving Sister-in-laws, Gaynell Freeman, Lilia Dumas, and Mary Juandoo and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends in Abilene-Arlington-Midland-Houston, Texas; Knoxville, Tennessee; Albany-Atlanta, Georgia; and Hartsell, Alabama; who thought fondly of her.

We wish to express special thanks to the compassionate caregivers at Brightpoint of Lytle Lake and Hendricks Hospice Center.
