Alvin Robertson

Alvin William Robertson, 86, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010. Graveside funeral service is 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 West Lake Road, Abilene, TX 79601, with Navy Honors.
Alvin was born on September 21, 1924 in Ponotoc, OK. On September 21, 1940, he married the love of his life, Nana Wilkerson. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Alvin worked in the missile industry where it took him as far as Wyoming, Florida, California, and Texas. He even worked on the first missile to the moon. He later settled in Hawley where he owned and operated Robertsons Trucking Company for 25 years. He then retired and moved to Abilene where he enjoyed traveling in his motor home with his wife and dog Brandy to see the countryside. Although he loved to joke and tease he was serious about being the best and giving his all in anything he did. Alvin was a humble and great believer in his Lord. He was very loved and will be missed greatly.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Nana 3 children, Glenda Cary and husband Tommy Don Robertson and wife Kelly and Gary Robertson and wife Carolyn 10 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
