Andrew White

Andy "Papaw" White, 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 14, 2018. He was called to heaven with his family by his side. Visitation will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Highway 277 South. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Elmwood Funeral Home. Pastor Randy Reese will officiate. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Andy was born in Dunn, Texas to Grady and Hazel White on December 2, 1932. He graduated from Colorado City High School in 1949. He married the love of his life, Doris Marie Reed, on September 7, 1951. He worked as an oilfield mechanic for 10 years, then started his own business, Industrial Engine & Equipment, Inc. and Abilene Drilling. He retired in August 2012, but still came to the shop to make his presence known.

Papaw always said "I worked my butt off most of my life, but I had a lot of fun too. I've had ski boats, racing boats, race cars, snowmobiles, motorcycles, traveled, and gambled "a lot". I've had a good life." He enjoyed being with his family, but most of all spoiling his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bob White, Foy "Butch" White; sisters, Eloise Roemisch, Joyce Bond, and infant Gwendolyn White.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; his children, Nancy Bridges, Andy White, Jr and wife, Linda, Betina Gilmore and husband, Bobby; his sister, Ellen Campbell; grandchildren, Michelle Cochran, and husband, Cory, Justin White and wife, Melanie, Paula Goolsby and husband, Scott, Jennifer King, Kyle Cannon, Whitney Pike and husband, Court, Julie Romero and husband, Anthony, Jason Williams, and Ashley Williams; Great-Grandchildren, Jordan, Jayden, Jaxton, Laynee, Austin, Koti, Hailee, Ryan, Stone, Brooklyn, Lakyn, River, Kutter, Claire, and Ryker; numerous nieces, nephews, and "adopted" grandkids.

Pallbearers will be Justin White, Jason Williams, Scott Goolsby, Cory Cochran, Court Pike, and Anthony Romero. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jordan Cardenas, Kutter Womack, Jaxton Cochran, Stone King, Ryan Goolsby, Ryker Romero, and Austin White.
