Angelita Escamilla

Angelita Escamilla, 90, of Abilene TX passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022, in Abilene, TX.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday June 21, 2022 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 US Hwy 277 S, Abilene, TX from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2022 at 11:00am at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Angelita was born on July 23, 1931 in Three Rivers, TX to Julio and Anita Resendez (Fernandez). She married Pedro Escamilla on July 24, 1954, and they were blessed with 56 years of marriage and 7 beautiful kids.

She was a hardworking homemaker and dedicated her life to her family, caring and loving them with all her heart. She was a member of Life Church. Angelita leaves a beautiful legacy that will carry on for generations to come and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by her children; sons Julian Escamilla and wife Cecilia, Johnny Escamilla and wife Maria, Pete Escamillo and wife Liz; daughters Stella Sanchez and husband Memo, Paula Rodriguez, Mary Olvera and husband Pedro and Mary Ann Arcos and husband Chris; sister Mary Escamilla and brother Al Resendez; 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
