Anna Louise Evans, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, August 16, 2015, in Allen, Texas. She and her husband, Bill Evans, moved to Abilene in 1970 when Bill was assigned to Dyess Air Force Base after a 3 year overseas assignment in Germany. They immediately felt loved and welcomed by the families of Abilene, Texas. They raised their four children in Abilene and Crescent Heights Baptist Church was their church home. Anne worked as a bookkeeper for many years while also taking care of her husband, all of his hunting buddies and friends, all of her children AND their friends, and many pets. She will be missed by many who will remember her as the mom who knew what everyone was up to, made everyone behave, but was still fun. She also taught her children, by example, the importance of sharing everything God gives with others.
A viewing will be held at 9:00am on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, followed immediately by a graveside service at 11:00am at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Sharon Gabreski and husband Robert; her son, Ken Evans and wife Molly; her daughter, Cyndi Kelly and husband John; her daughter Dyana Byrd and husband Shane; along with nine grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Evans; her daughter, Lyndi Evans; and her grandson, Brandon Byrd.
