Anna "Maxine" James, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on January 26, 2015.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2015, at Elmwood Funeral Home Memorial Park, Garden of Hope section.
Maxine was born on April 30, 1935, in rural Hood County, to Max and Nellie Annie Williamson both of whom preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Margie Edwards and Julia Mae Dennis, and a brother M. L. (Sonny) Williamson.
Maxine married her high school sweetheart, Billy R. James, on June 18, 1955. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was devoted to her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ and even though her health declined during the last years of her life, her faith was evident in her sweet and gentle spirit.
Maxine is survived by her husband of over 59 years, Billy James; daughters, Paula Tallant and husband, Jim, and Pam Moreland; son, Phillip James and wife, Glenda; granddaughters, Jordan Ronalder and husband, Nick, and Gaye Rosser of Round Rock, Texas; grandson, Brayden James; her sister, Mary Jane Williams and husband, Tex of Austin, Texas, as well as extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of the Oaks at Radford Hills and Hendrick Hospice Care.
