Anna Karen Frost, beloved by family, friends, and the community, passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 76 after bravely battling Glioblastoma for 18 months. Anna was born on January 27, 1948, in Abilene, Texas, to Conway and Elizabeth (Owen) Frost.
Anna Karen's journey was marked by a deep love for learning and the arts. She graduated from Abilene High School and pursued her passion for Theatre Arts at the University of Texas at Austin.
In her professional life, Anna Karen dedicated herself to nurturing and educating children. She served with distinction as an Early Child and Playground Specialist at Region 14 ESC until her retirement. Her work was not just a job but a calling, reflecting her immense love and dedication to children.
Outside of her professional life, Anna Karen was a woman of profound faith and family values. She was a devoted member of Victory Church in Abilene, finding solace and strength in her spirituality. Anna Karen was also a lover of nature, particularly flowers, with a special fondness for amaryllis. Her involvement with the local Master Gardeners showcased her passion for cultivating beauty and life. Music and singing were other facets of Anna Karen's rich life. She found joy and expression through music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Conway and Elizabeth Frost; and her brother, Owen Frost.
Anna Karen is survived by her sister-in-law, Paulette Frost; nieces, Mandy Truesdale, and Leslie Mrozek, as well as several cousins.
A service to honor Anna Karen's life will be held at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, on May 3 at 1:00 PM, where friends, family, and the community will gather to celebrate her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Anna Karen's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her.
