The Lord said "I will take over now" and carried Annette Forgay Wade to heaven on March 13, 2021. Annette was born in 1929 in Sweetwater, Texas to Asa Cone (A.C.) Forgay and Annabelle Jordan Forgay. Annette was a resident of Denton, Texas and a member of the North Texas Church of Christ.
Annette attended Abilene Christian College and married Charles Nisbett Wade in 1947. Annette and Charles were blessed with 73 years of marriage before his death on January 3, 2021.
Annette accepted Christ at an early age and faithfully served in all aspects of the church wherever she attended. She along with Charles generously supported Christian evangelical and benevolent ministries through donations of time and financial support. Annette was also a talented homemaker and cheerleader at all times of her five children. She was a great support to Charles in his banking and school board endeavors. Annette, (Jere as she was known to friends and family) enjoyed traveling with Charles after their retirement.
Annette is survived by her children Mike Wade, Catherine Rice (Grady), Melissa Hunter (Paul), John Paul Wade and Stephanie Picquet (Mike); four grandchildren, four great-grand children, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. Annette is also survived by brother Asa Cone Forgay Jr. "Sonny" (Hannah) and sister in law Montie Mary Spaulding (Bob.). The family appreciates the love and care shown to "mom" by her many friends and caregivers during the recent years.
A funeral service is scheduled for March 22, 2021 at Elmwood Funeral Home in Abilene at 1:00 pm with a graveside commitment service at Elmwood Memorial Park thereafter. The funeral service will be videoed and available for viewing at a later date.
Memorials in her honor may be made to the Portales, New Mexico Children's Home or Lubbock Christian University, both charities that Annette supported.
