Antonio “Tony” Bustamante, 74, of Abilene passed away in his home, Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in Abilene.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation and rosary will be held Tuesday, August 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Tony was born on August 5, 1946 in Barstow, Texas to the late Gregorio Bustamante and Margarita Vasquez Bustamante. He married the love of his life, Isabel Lopez on May 16, 1969. Tony worked at Lowes for over 23 years until his retirement. He loved his wife, children and family, always welcoming them with open arms. Tony was very artistic and imaginative in creating his art work oil painting on canvas, as well as freehand drawing and sketching. He enjoyed and found peace in working outside of his home gardening and landscaping. Tony was a very caring person with a humble heart and a fun loving spirit, his personality was one of a kind and it well always be remembered to those who knew him well. Tony’s faith was very strong. His morning commute to work was always spent in prayer thanking God for his blessings.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Isabel Lopez Bustamante; children, Michael Bustamante and wife Penny of Abilene, Tricia Bustamante Davis and husband Mark of Austin Tx, Sylvia Parras and husband Tom of Dallas Tx; grandchildren, Reagan Bustamante, Lauren “Ashley” Molina, Austin Bustamante, Kaydence Bustamante, Jordan Brown, Steven Parras, Brandon Parras, Ashley Davis; and four great grandchildren; siblings, Rosemary West and late husband Bobby West, Emelia Paredez and husband Ismael, Manuel Bustamante and wife Nora, George Bustamante, Monica Rodriguez and husband Johnny, Veronica Des Combes and husband Chip; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Tony was also preceded in death by his brother Frederico “Freddy” Bustamante
