Arthur “Art” Ramos Garza was welcomed into this world in Fort Stockton, TX on October 4th, 1953 by his parents, Tomas and Tomasita Garza.
"Who is Art Garza?" Well, once you knew him or became apart of his pranks, you knew he was quite the jokester. Art never met a stranger and was always happy to see his people. You would never get lost when traveling because according to him, this was just the scenic route. Once the party ended and the dance hall shut its doors, he would take his moves out into the parking lot, allowing the moon and stars to be the dance lights. Family wasn't always about blood for him and he took in those he loved; even the stray animals his children dragged in. He would put up a good front claiming, “We don’t need another dang cat!”, only to turn around and spoil the little fur balls in secret.
On Oct 14, 2024, Art finally escaped what he called “his little insane asylum” to be reunited with anticipated loved ones who RSVP'D prior to his earthly departure. Art was welcomed home by his late wife Sheryl Garza, his parents, Tomas and Tomasita Garza, an older sister, Dee Brent's, and his grandson, Hayden Strickland, to keep him on his toes.
He definitely didn't leave any Bud Light behind for his wife Haydee Garza, or his children, Robert Garza and wife Kimberly, Christina Tucker and husband Kirk, Raquel Garza, and Manuel Garza.
His legacy of using Spanish curse words as 1st Spanish words lives on through his cherished grandchildren, Ashton Garza, Kairi Garza, Dilyne Overton, Logan Overton, Leo Tucker, Jasper Tucker, and his Pequeños colorados, Ivan Tucker and Lilith Tucker as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends. Can’t forget to mention that one niece. What was her name?? Oh yeah Geneva Martinez formally of the Lujan’s.
One of his favorite things to say was, “the day I die, you'll remember..." Well dad, that day has come but we're only going to quote that here and not on your headstone. We love and thank you for the life you gave us. We thank you for all the memories we have to cherish and laugh over as we try to accept this next chapter for your soul and our lives ahead. You will forever be loved and missed by your friends and family.
