Aubrey Mendez

Aubrey Nicole Mendez, 21, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 in Tye, TX. Visitation will be from 6 till 7 PM, with a Rosary Service beginning at 7 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Her funeral service will be 10 AM, Friday, January 20, 2012 in the Merkel High School Gymnasium.
Aubrey was born January 6, 1991 to Jaime Mendez and Christie Castillo. In high school she participated in basketball, track, and cross country. She was a 2009 graduate of Merkel High School. She attended South Plains College for a year after high school and was currently earning her Psychology degree at Texas Tech University. Aubrey was outgoing, friendly, and she had a special touch on the heart of everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Aubrey is survived by her mother, Christine Castillo her father, Jaime Mendez and wife Nellie maternal grandparents, Joe and Elva Castillo, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Mendez four brothers Jacob Mekel Mendez, Omar Gajardo, Xavier Sanchez, and Elijah Mendez three sisters, Justice Moncibaiz, Rosemary Rubio and husband Edgar, and Andrea Peraza several cousins, aunts and uncles, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her best friend Kimbo.
