Austin Michael Cole Baker left this world on October 29, 2022 at his home in Abilene, Texas. Austin was born on July 22, 1998 in Clovis, California. He moved to Abilene, Texas at the age of 14 and always knew he was a true Texan and wanted to make it his home, despite his California roots. Austin even developed that Texan accent. Austin worked in the oil field for all of his adult life because he loved workin' hard and with his hands. He was a jack of all trades, if it needed fixin' or to be done, Austin knew how to do it. He was a caring and thoughtful person who would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. Austin always had a smile on his face and could make anyone laugh, even if they didn't want to. Despite becoming a dad at such a young age, he was an amazing, supportive and an attentive father. Austin loved to call out his son's full name which was just as unique as his, three first names and no middle name. Austin's favorite things to do were to spend time with his family and friends, listen to music, golfing, fishing, cooking for his family, and he enjoyed a yeti filled with some good whiskey. Austin was a bright and beautiful light in this world that could light up any situation he was in. Austin's light will never be forgotten or dimmed. It is believed Austin was too good for this world and was called home early to be with some of his favorite people his grandpa Robert, his uncle Tim, uncle Robert Wayne, and his cousin, who was always more like a "brother", Andrew. Austin is leaving behind his wife and best friend, Alyssa, and his 10-month-old son, Andrew. Austin's wife and son were the loves of his life. He also leaves behind his mother Bambi, his father Michael, his siblings Clayton and his son, Cody, his wife, and their daughter, Mandy, Robert Earl. His "brother" Robert and his wife Des'Rae and their children, his cousin Joshua and his wife and children, and his grandmothers Janice Baker and Kathryn Dominquez and so many other dearly loved family members and close friends. The funeral service will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South Abilene, Texas 79606, on November 4th at 1pm. Gravesite will be at Tye Cemetery immediately after. A viewing will be held Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 from 6pm - 8pm at Elmwood Funeral Home.
