Barbara Orr

Barbara Lee Orr, 78, of Baird, followed the love of her life, Bob, into heaven on January 4th. Visitation will be held on Wednesday the 8th, from 6-8pm at Elmwood Funeral Home in Abilene, TX. Graveside services on Thursday the 9th at 2 pm at Elmwood Memorial Park. Barbara was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on April 5, 1946 to Harry Robert and Jessie Jean Adams Christy. She was a cheerleader of the last graduating class at Newhall High School in 1964. She married Robert Franklin Orr on September 25, 1971 in Reno, Nevada and from then they became Bob and Bobbi. They had 31 blissful years together. The two loved camping on weekends and taking family vacations with their kids every summer. After his retirement from the Air Force they settled in Baird, Texas in 1986. Bobbi worked in the insurance business for 35 years in Abilene for Jimmy Partin and then Moutray Ins.

Left to hold dear and keep her memories alive are her 4 children: Chris Orr of Baird, Kelly Sherrod (Truman) of Abilene, Traci Knight (Clifford) of Sanger and Daniel Orr of Baird. She was adored by 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren with 2 on the way and one Great Great. We always felt safe and loved in her arms and always where Grandmas cookie jar was. She is big sister to Peggy Davis, Don Christy (Lorie) and Deborah Twesten (Jim). Many nephews and nieces will miss their Aunt Barb. And if she ever hugged you then you knew you were loved and had a friend that would always have your back. Barbara mourned deeply for her husband, parents and sisters Cheryl Wiley and Jeannie Mitchell.
