Barry Brown

July 7, 1950 — December 17, 2011

Barry Scott Brown, 61, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 at his home in Tye. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 22nd in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with interment following in the Tye Cemetery. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Barry was born on July 7, 1950 in Wichita, Kansas where he grew up and graduated from Campus High School. He served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. While stationed in Thailand he met the love of his life Urai June Doy Dangkane and they were married in 1972. After his retirement from the Air Force, Barry worked 20 years at the Dyess Air Force Base bowling alley.

Barry loved fishing, camping, water skiing, racing and all sports. He was an avid movie buff and especially liked old westerns and all of the 007 movies. He was a computer whiz and always into the latest technology.

Barry is survived by his sister, Sharon Kay Rice of Louisburg, Kansas two nephews, Benny Rice of Louisburg, Kansas and Terry Allison of Colorado City, Texas great nieces and nephew, Tiera Nash of Sweetwater, and Melia and Remington Rice of Louisburg, Kansas 3 daughters, 1 son and several grandchildren and great grandchildren living in Thailand and Germany.

His wife Doy preceded him in death on June 1st of this year.
