Bennie Carroll

Bennie Carroll, 80, of Abilene passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, March 13, 2017 at Elliot-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South.
He was born February 19, 1937 in Hamlin, Texas to Clyde and Grace Carroll. He spent the majority of his life in Hamlin and worked a wide variety of careers; most recently working as a Supervisor. On February 12, 1960, Bennie married his sweetheart Bea King in his hometown of Hamlin. Bennie and Bea recently celebrated their 57th year anniversary. They enjoyed going dancing together and traveling across the United States.
Benny enjoyed taking apart items and re-building them as a hobby. He also found joy in taking care of his animals; raising horses for years. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. Bennie was a great neighbor and a great friend to everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife, Bea Carroll; son, Rodney Carroll; seven grandchildren, Alicia Carroll, Amelia Moore, Ethan Carroll, Courtney Carroll, Austin Carroll, Shelbi Carroll and Jacob Carroll; and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Clyde Lynn Carroll; his parents and his sister Joann Estill of Lubbock, TX.
