Berta Alicia Pequeno
She was born on January 7, 1962 in Eagle Pass to Marcial and Epimenia Medrano, and was the youngest of seven children. She lived in Amarillo and then moved to Abilene Tx. She loved family gatherings and was always willing to help.
After she moved to Abilene, she worked for Kinder Hearts for ten years. She was a home health aide and was loved by everyone she knew. She had a big heart and will be missed tremendously.
She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on April 28, 2021 in Abilene Tx.
Bert is survived by her husband Enrique Pequeno, her five children Richie Deleon of Ft. Worth, Mandy DeLeon of Amarillo Tx, Christy and Robert Carrion of Abilene Tx, Daniel Jr. Gamez of Abilene Tx. Marissa Gamez of Abilene, four brothers, Jose his wife Filamena Medrano of Coleman Tx, Natividad his wife Olga Medrano of Hereford Tx, Juan his wife Ida Medrano of Brady Tx, Armando his wife Sue Medrano of Denison Tx and one sister Mary her husband Thomas Estrada of Amarillo TX. and nineteen grandchildren, Pablo, Joshia, Christopher, Samson, Titas, Julissa, Elexia, Tonya, Jennavecia, Jazelle, Marcell, Messiah, Ariana, Isaac, Ariya, Nevaeh, Abriella, Niah and Carmella. She had numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Marcial and Epimenia, a brother Seferino Medrano, and a granddaughter Amri Gamez.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Medrano, Christopher Medrano, Eric Moreno, Dakota Toomes, Mike Garcia and Patrick Rubio.
Arrangements are under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home, Abilene Tx. Visitation is Sunday May 2, 2021, at Elmwood Funeral Home 5750 Hwy 277 South Abilene TX, beginning at 4:00 p.m - 5:00 p.m with a prayer service to begin at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m on Monday, May 3, 2021 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South Abilene TX.
