Betty Hill

Betty Ann Hill, 79, of Abilene passed away on Saturday June 28, 2014 with her loving family at her side.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday July 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oldham Lane Church of Christ. Inurnment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hill was born to the late O.C. and Sallie Moore on March 5, 1935 in Prairie View, Arkansas. On December 23, 1950 she married the love of her life and husband for over 63 years, Raye Hill. After she graduated from high school in Booneville, Arkansas in 1952 the couple moved to Flint, Michigan. There they raised five children Rita, Vickie, Marvin, Melvin and Roy. As a lifelong member of The Church of Christ, Mrs. Hill taught numerous childrens bible classes as well as womens bible classes and was an inspiration to all. In 1999 the couple retired to Abilene, Texas where they were active members of the Baker Heights Church of Christ and Oldham Lane Church of Christ. Mrs. Hill also taught the womens bible class at both congregations.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband Raye of Abilene daughter Vickie Cardot and husband Joe of Abilene sons, Marvin Hill of Abilene, Melvin Hill and wife Christy of Honolulu, HI, Roy Hill and wife Kim of Punta Gorda, FL. brothers, O.C. Moore Jr. and wife Pat of Charleston, Ark., Jerry Wayne Moore and wife Suzanne of Paris, Ark. sister, Sandra Craig and husband Kenneth of Sayre, OK. 7 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hill was also preceded in death by her daughter Rita Hill.
