Betty Holder

Betty Delaine Holder, 88, passed away April 8, 2017. A graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Betty was born on October 23, 1928 to Foy and Bertha Loflin in Hylton, Texas. She was a graduate of Blackwell High School. She met the love of her life Roy and they married in 1957 and enjoyed 52 years of marriage until his passing in 2009. She loved to sew and was a crafter. She always enjoyed making handcrafted gifts for her family. She was a member of Northwest Church of Christ where she was very involved with Tuesday Ladies Bible Study and the Funeral Lunches. She was also an active member of a local chapter of TOPS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Holder; and parents, Foy and Bertha Loflin.

She is survived by her daughter, Gayla Holder of Abilene; sister-in-law, Demetra Holder of Granbury; special niece, Jackie Holder of Abilene; great niece, Randi Alston and husband Sean of Abilene; great great nieces, Lexi and Kendell Strain; great great nephew, Robert Thomas Alston.

Family would like to thank her special Caregiver, Virginia; and her neighbor and dear family friend, Howard Moses. They also are thankful for the care and love she received from, Melissa Flores, Barbara and Wallace at the Group Care Home and for the support of Kindred Hospice Care.
