Bettye Bullard

Bettye Ruth Bullard of Abilene, a loving Christian woman, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 31, 2015.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Bettye was born on March 3, 1930, in New Hope, Arkansas. She lived in Shallowater, Texas with her husband Jim Watkins until his death in 1961. Bettye later married Don Bullard and they moved to Abilene and lived until his death in 1999. She was a member of the Grape Street Church of Christ. Bettye loved her church and church family who were faithful to her during her illness.

Bettye was also preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Leilah White Young; three brothers, Dennis Young, Denver Young and Dwayne Young.

Bettye is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Lee Birdwell of Lubbock, TX; and Irene Crisp of Bradington, FL; many nieces and nephews who she loved and who dearly loved her. She is also survived by three Step Children, Ross Bullard, Dennis Bullard and Donita O'Keefe.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Grape Street Church of Christ or Hendrick Hospice.
