Billie Scott

Billie Sue Pitt Scott, age 75, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on October 17, 2011.

She graduated from Abilene High School and attended voice classes at Hardin Simmons University. She was a very talented and gifted singer who received many awards and much recognition. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Pitt, and was the beloved wife of Cal Scott for more than 50 years. Billie touched the lives of many people with her music, a smile that could light up any darkness, and her generosity. She grew up the daughter of a Baptist minister and continued her fathers ministry by sharing her love of Jesus through many new and old hymns. She also loved to play the piano, laugh, cook, entertain, paint, spend time and have fun with her family and friends.

She will forever be remembered by her loving husband, Cal and four devoted children, Sue Scott of Little Rock, AK, Mark Haile Liz of Portland, OR, Callie Scott Woosley Sparky of Nashville, TN, and Tracye Scott Ramelot Duane of Abilene, TX eight treasured grandchildren and eleven greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Scott.

Pallbearers are: Sparky Woosley, Brian Scott Roberts, Trevor Ramelot, Rio Ramelot, Duane Ramelot, and Justin Provost.

Friends and family are invited to attend services on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family requests all donations are sent to the wonderful people who gave such wonderful care for Billie in her time of need at Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory, Abilene, Texas 79601.
