Billy Craig

Billy M. Red Craig, 84, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2010. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 6 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Craig was born on May 5, 1925 in Coleman the son of Fred Craig and Vera May Boyd Craig. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and married Marvella Thompson on July 19, 1943. He owned and operated Craigs Food Mart in Coleman for over 40 years.

After retirement and moving to Abilene in 2002, Red enjoyed fishing and traveling to Bossier City and Las Vegas.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marvella Craig of Abilene two daughters, Carolyn Bevills and husband Duane and Carla Holland all of Abilene three grandchildren, Leticia Bevills McJimsey of Snyder, Johnny Bevills of Abilene and Lori Holland Green of Jackson, Mississippi 13 great grandchildren and one sister, Noretta Pinkard.
