Billy Gene Glover, Born in Quinlan Texas, in 1936 to Flore and Dixie Glover. He moved to Abilene Texas with his family. He graduated from Woodson High School in 1955 and joined the US Air Force in 1956. He then married Trudy (Harris) in 1960.
Visitation will be April 8, 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Elmwood Funeral Home 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Funeral Services, Friday, April 9, 2021 at 12:30pm at Elmwood Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be 2:00pm with Full Military Honors at the Texas State Veteran Cemetery 7457 W Lake Road, Abilene, Texas.

During his enlistment in the Air Force, he worked on launching satellites at Vandenburg AFB in Calif. He was also stationed at Lowry AFB, Colorado; Kadena AFB, Japan; Fairchild AFB, Washington and retired in 1977 at Offutt AFB, Nebraska after serving 22 years.
He moved with his family back to Abilene and was employed as an Accounting Supervisor at WTU for 16 years. Afterward he worked at Abilene Publishing in the accounting dept. and retired after 10 years.
Billy was a faithful member at Macedonia Baptist Church and served as Church Treasurer and Youth Director for numerous years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Flore and Dixie Glover; brothers James Glover, Willie Edward Glover; sisters Juanita Ammons, Pearl Starkes, and Betty Glover
Survived by his wife Trudy (Harris) married 60 years; children Cynthia New, Sybil Oneal and Cicely Glover; grandchildren Jennifer Jones, Allen and Alexandria Oneal; Brother Vaughn Glover; Sister Shelia Alexander ( Othello); Brother-in-law, Oscar Fields; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
