Billy Richards

Billy Leon Richards, 87, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019. Funeral service will be Monday, February 11, 2019 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Billy was born January 12, 1932 in Turnertown, TX to parents, Clark and Mary Norman Richards. After high school he served our country honorably in the United States Army. He married the love of his life Louise and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage before her passing in 2017. He owned a floor and paint company during the 1950's. later, he began his career with Montgomery Wards and worked until his retirement in 1987 after 37 years of employment.

Billy loved being outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, or training bird dogs. He was a scratch golfer and always believed in having a good time no matter what he was doing.

He is survived by his son, Robert of Tuscola; his sister, Murel Richards of Richardson; his nephews, Jeff Woods of Alaska, Steve woods of Burleson, Craig Richards and wife Vicki of Fort Worth; Randy Richard and wife Kari of Watauga, Richard Richardson and wife Denise of Kennedale; his niece, Rickee Richardson of Carrollton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; three brothers, Louie Woods, Jack Woods, and Loren (Slick) Richards; and his parents.
