Billy Ray Rogers, age 67 of Abilene, passed away on Sunday February 4, 2018 at Hendricks Medical Center. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 608 North 7th, Abilene, Texas. A funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, February 9, 2018 at Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service in Abilene Municipal Cemetery.

He was born to the late Ellis Harold Rogers and Tessie Henry Rogers on April 29th, 1950. He attended Woodson High and Abilene High School. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church until his death. After high school he worked in Dallas at Southwestern Steel. He later returned to Abilene and worked as a bondsman for SOS Bail Bonds, American Bail Bonds and Yellow Cab Company for many years.

Billy Ray had a few nicknames like Steel Bill but was best known as Wild Bill. He loved his motorcycles and rode them as often as possible, especially with Floyd, his dawg. He also loved to travel, fish, and barbecue. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, no one ever left Wild Bills home hungry. Billy Ray had a huge heart, he mentored many young men in his life time. His greatest joys were his grandchildren, he was their Paw Paw. Billy Ray has twenty five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He met his life long partner Annette Anderson in 1979 and later married her January 6, 2006. Their love for each other was unbreakable, he said he loved Annette from the first day he saw her.

He leaves to cherish his memories his stepbrother Charles Smith, brother in laws Judge Thomas Jones, Robert Anderson and Deacon Rodney Brown. Sister in laws Karen Rogers and Marie Brown. His five daughters Tonya Williams, Sonya Williams, Carolette Anderson, Crystal Fitzgerald, Sherell Rogers and one Awesome son Brandon Ray Rogers. Some other key figures in his life are Donovan Pimpton , Gary Pimpton , Keith Brown, Mashane Taylor, Latasha Williams, Andre Durham, Cedric Bell, Wesley Anthony, Byron Wilson and Reginald Wesley. His niece's Regina Jones and Shelby Rogers, nephew Sterling Rogers, James Winn ( Plookie ), Takina Grant and Aunt Mary E. Island and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
