Billy Shaw

Billy Lloyd Shaw, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in Abilene. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 15th at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1741 Sayles Blvd with interment following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Billy was born on November 13, 1924 in Stamford the son of James M. Shaw and Myrtee Mancill Shaw. He graduated from Abilene High School and attended Hardin Simmons University before going in to the ArmyAir Corp to serve his country during WWII. Billy later graduated from Texas AM University with a BA in Agricultural Engineering. He worked many years in this profession, living in various places throughout his life and returned to Abilene in 1983.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Alice Shaw of Abilene his son, Steve Shaw and wife Mary Ellen of Williamsburg, Virginia niece, Cen Gannoway of Roswell, New Mexico cousins, Mary Wells Foster, Tom Bill Holden, and Millie Ehsani.

His brother, James Mancill Shaw preceded him in death.

Memorial donations are suggested to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
