Bobby Brown

Bobby Joyce Brown, 78, died Monday, August 4, 2008 in Abilene. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 7th at the Iberis Cemetery under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Bobby Joyce was born on June 26, 1930 the daughter of Selmer Louis Chapman and Jewel Williams Chapman. She graduated from Abilene Christian High School and worked a few years at Timex before marrying Robert L. Bob Brown on November 5, 1951. She had also worked at Abilene Kindergarten and later retired from Texas Instruments. She attended 16th and Vine Church of Christ.

Bobby Joyce was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. The only thing she loved above her family was Jesus Christ whom she referred to often as her Sweet Jesus. She had an unconditional love for her husband, Bob of 57 years, her children, grandchildren and many close friends. She was always happiest any time the family could get together and cherished the many family vacations to the coast, and time spent with her brothers and sister. She delighted in being an active part of the lives of her grandchildren and was faithful to attend their many games and activities. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include, her husband Bob of Abilene; two sons, Guy Dean Brown and wife Kathy of Abilene, Arthur Robert Brown and wife LouAnn of Ovalo; two daughters, Terry Lee Keith and husband Donald of Abilene, and Laurie Hollis Spivey and husband Jim of Lampasas; her treasured grandchildren, Caleb Brown and wife Kristi, Jerrod Brown and wife Julia, Sara Wilfong and husband Tate, Ethan Brown, Dusty Kinslow and husband Adam, Zackry Brown, Levi Keith and wife Kim, Amber Keith, and Allie Spivey; great grandchildren, Bryce, Jordyn, Anna, Blaydon, Dreighton, Hagen, Mia, and Augustus; her brother, Louis Dean Chapman and wife Linda; her sister, Wilma Hounshell and husband Horace of Bangs; and a sister-in-law, Gypsy Bessent of Round Rock.

Her parents, and a brother, Alton Ray Chapman preceded her in death.
