Bobby Kimbrough

Bobby Joe Kimbrough was born February 5, 1932 in Brownfield, Texas to Dee and Millie Kimbrough. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2016, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Bobby graduated from Abilene High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, we was stationed in England for a time, where he met Muriel Johnson. The couple returned to Abilene, where they were married January 15, 1955. After an honorable discharge, Bobby worked in the oilfield, being employed by Hack Drilling Company over 30 years.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Muriel; two sons, Danny Stephen Kimbrough of Austin and John Dee Kimbrough of Ohio; two grandchildren, Julian and wife Rubie of Ohio and Kyle of Round Rock; and two sisters, Kneodah and Linda.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Arthur Kimbrough, Thurman Kimbrough and Cappy Amerien. He was also preceded by an uncle, Jake Evans.
