Bud Letz

Bud Bernhard Letz, 88 of Abilene, Texas passed away on Saturday January 21, 2023. A visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church, 1202 South Pioneer Drive.
Bud was born on December 4, 1934, in Haskell County, Texas to Bernhard Letz and Amanda Schroeder Letz. He was raised on a farm near the towns of Sagerton and Old Glory Texas. He graduated from Old Glory High School in 1953.
He attended Texas Lutheran University in Seguin Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas in 1958 with a B.S. Degree in Architectural Engineering. He then became a registered structural engineer. After working 26 years for Central Texas Iron Works. He spent the next 23 years in private practice.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernhard Letz and Amanda Schroeder Letz; wife, Barbara Daw Letz; sister Helen Lehrmann and husband Clancy.
He is survived by daughter, Teri Letz of Perrin, Tx, daughter, Celeste Letz and Tim Jarratt of Eula, Tx, grandson, Justin Brewster of Eula, Tx, grandson, Jordan Brewster and wife, Colinda of Shelbyville, Ky; great-grandsons, Blaize, Silas, Tripten, and Brazos; niece, Gail Lehrmann of Denver, Co; nephew, Stephen Lehrmann of Sagerton, Tx; and numerous other family members.
