Carlos Pudgie Archuleta Sr., 52, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 in Abilene. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 20th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with interment following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Elmwood.
Carlos was born and raised in Casa Grande, Arizona the son of Merced Archuleta and Rita Alcantar Archuleta. He came to Abilene in 1995 where he worked as a welderfitter for Hirschfield Steel and most recently for Robinson Fans, Inc. He loved serving the Lord as part of the Broadview West Baptist Church and the Big Country Emmaus Community.
Carlos enjoyed camping, playing softball, Barbequing, playing horseshoes and joking around with family and friends. He had a giving heart and was always looking for ways to help others in the community and in his church families.
Survivors include his wife Alma of Abilene his children, Carlos Archuleta Jr. of Casa Grande, Arizona, Joe Archuleta and wife Barbara of Casa Grande, Arizona, Eric Archuleta and wife Pauline of Abilene, Sonia Archuleta and husband Jiame Munoz of Abilene, Emilio Merced Archuleta of Abilene and Mystica Garcia Archuleta of Abilene sisters, Connie Johnson of Sonoma, California and Yolanda Barrera of Casa Grande, Arizona his brother, Merced Archuleta Jr. of Casa Grande, Arizona and 15 grandchildren.
His parents, a sister, Stella Archuleta and a brother, Arthur Archuleta preceded him in death.
