You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
Carolyn Hines was born on December 31, 1950 in Abilene, TX and transitioned to be with the Lord late Saturday evening on May 13, 2023.
Carolyn graduated from Abilene High School class of 1969. She studied at Wayland Baptist University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human and Social Services in 1994.
Carolyn retired from Texas Health and Human Services Commission as an Eligibility Specialist, in 2009. As an Eligibility Specialist, she determined Medicaid eligibility for the elderly and people with disabilities for nursing homes, in-home services, and Medicare cost-sharing programs.
Carolyn attended Antioch CME Church where she sang in the choir.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Henry Wylie & Onnie Wrencher, grandmother Ollie Moore, father & mother in-law Reynold & Laurie Peery, uncle Bernest J. Lott Sr., aunt Imogene Lott, brother Andri Hamilton Jackson, brother in-law Gregory Peery, sister Gloria Foreman, sister-in-law Wanda Peery Alston, cousins Sandra Lott, Robert Dale Lott, Bernest J. Lott Jr. and son Jacque Breton Peery.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Billy Zell Hines, whom she married on February 24, 1996 in Abilene, TX, her children Charemon Peery of Euless, TX, & Rozlyn Peery Thomason of Lakeland, FL, first husband and father to her children Andre(Sandra) Peery, goddaughter Portia Poitier of Garland, TX, sister Cecilia Starling, brothers Jimmie Jackson, and Cedric Daughtery, grandchildren Kara Peery, Sarah Peery, Mikala Thomason, Thomas Castro Peery, Emily Allen, Jordan Blake Hicks, Courtney Serelle Hicks and Jacque Xavier Peery, great grandchildren, Cataleya Sunkes, Ava Reign Cooper and Zaiden Hernandez. Carolyn is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
