Carolyn Robinson Watson, 75, passed away peacefully Friday, April 28, 2017, at Windcrest Health and Rehab in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 2, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. Both services will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 5750 Highway 277 South in Abilene, Texas. Her nephew, Michael McAlister, will officiate.
Born November 8, 1941 in Fairfield, Illinois, she moved to Abilene, Texas as a young child. She was a 1960 graduate of Abilene High School, remained involved as a class reunion organizer, and attended McMurry College.
Carolyn was a general agent and co-owner of James S. Watson & Associates Insurance Agency. She was a member of the Texas Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. She was involved at the local and state level in leadership, being a TLRT Lone Star Leader two years and a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table for two years.
She was active in several clubs and civic organizations, including West Texas Rehabilitation Center, Junior League of Abilene, P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter EK, and Abilene Woman's Club. She was a long time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She also attended The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest.
Carolyn loved cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Most of all, she loved time with her four grandchildren who lovingly called her Cookie. She was recently blessed with a great grandson, Myles, and a new great granddaughter, Myla.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank her devoted caregiver, Bonnie Cowley, whom Carolyn loved as a dear friend.
Survivors include her daughter, Martha Jane Webb, husband, James, and their children, Megan Webb, fiancé Ben, and Ryan Harris; her son, Elliott White, wife, Elsa, and their children, Jackie White and Sam White; and stepdaughter, Kandy Ferguson. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Roberts and her sons, Michael and Justin; brother, Carl Robinson, his wife, Gay, and their children Carla Gay and Carl Allen. There are also numerous cousins who added great joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Mildred Robinson and husband, James S. Watson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, West Texas Rehabilitation Center, or the charity of your choice.
