Catherine Ann Loza, affectionately known as "Kay," danced her way into heaven on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the age of 65. A rosary will be 10:00 AM, Friday, April 12, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5410 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas. The funeral mass will begin at 11:00 AM immediately following the rosary. Burial will be at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024. She was born on January 5, 1959, to Roberto L. Alva and Margarita Alva in San Antonio, Texas. Kay lived a life that was vibrant, full of laughter, and marked by a spirit that never stopped believing.
Kay's presence was a beacon of joy and positivity to all who knew her. Her fun-loving personality, free spirit, and blunt honesty made her a cherished friend and family member. Her energy was infectious, and her laughter seemed to travel for miles and miles, bringing light to every gathering.
A passionate soul, Kay dedicated herself to coaching cheer and dance, sharing her love for movement and rhythm with others. She was also known for her adventurous side as a biker chic, embracing life with courage and enthusiasm.
In her quieter moments, Kay found solace and creativity in color art, sewing, and quilting. She was a master at her craft, pouring her heart into every stitch and design. Her artistic talents were matched only by her skill as the bingo queen, a title she wore proudly and with a twinkle in her eye.
Professionally, Kay was a compassionate caregiver in the medical field, touching the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and expertise. Her capacity to care knew no bounds, and her legacy of empathy and dedication will endure through the lives she touched.
Above all, Kay cherished her time with family, especially her beloved grandkids. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she found immense joy in their laughter and presence.
Kay's signature red lipstick was a reflection of her bold spirit and vibrant personality, a reminder to live life boldly and without reservation. Though she may have left this earth, her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin Loza; her son Srgt. Christopher Loza; and great grandchild, Nova.
Kay is survived by her children, Margarita Loza (Brandon Bonds), Chris Fick, and Erica Loza (Paul Samra); her grandchildren, Tavian Bonds (Kaylan), Joseph Flores, Jassell Flores, Joslyn Flores, Jalicia Flores, Raiden Fick, Aubrey Camacho, Iyan Camacho, Gracelyn Zermeno, and Iliana Loza; and great grandchildren, Alizaey B. Flores, Kehlani Jones, and Catalina Estrada; siblings, Deborah Warfield (Darwin Warfield), and Patrick Alva; her nephews, Robert Warfield and wife Lynette, and Father Carlos Warfield; and numerous other family members and endless friends.
In honoring Kay's memory, let us celebrate her life, her laughter, and her unwavering belief in the beauty of each moment. She may have stopped dancing here on earth, but her spirit continues to dance with joy and eternal hope.
Don't stop believing, Kay. Your legacy of love and laughter lives on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear Kay. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
