Cecilio Garza

November 22, 1921 — March 8, 2011

Cecilio Aguilar Garza passed away at the age of 89, Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at home with his family in Abilene, Texas. Cecilio served his country as a rifleman in the 20th Armored Infantry of the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He married Maria Ozuna of Boerne, TX in 1942 and they settled in Abilene to start their family. He retired from carpentry in 1985. Cecilio was a member of the Templo Bautista in Abilene. He was a firm believer in Christ with strong family values and he strove to instill these ideals in everyone he met. He was Dad to everyone and will be greatly missed.
Cecilio was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Benita Garza, his two brothers, Tomas and Toribio Garza, his sister, Manuela Ramos and his son Jesse Garza.
He is survived by his wife, Maria and his children, Joe Diane Garza of Dayton, TX Tomas Juanita Garza of Abilene Olivia Talamantez of Abilene Lydia Garza of Abilene Carmen Austen Sousa of Ballinger, TX Irene Joe Isaias of Lewisville, TX Annie Garza of San Antonio, TX and Jimmy Irma Garza of Irving, TX along with numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, greatgreatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
