Celia Espinoza

Celia "Sally" Calderon Espinoza, 71, of Abilene passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 in Abilene.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 10 AM at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 US HWY 277 S Abilene, TX 79606. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Sally was born on March 7, 1947 in Loraine, TX., to the late Jose Calderon and Manuela Cardoza Calderon. She lived in a farming community and worked in the fields picking cotton. Her father did not believe in education so she would say she "was a 4th grade graduate" and later in life was able to get her GED. Sally also went on to obtain her Beauticians License and was received many awards for her hard work. Her father was old fashioned so when she was 13 she entered into an arranged marriage. Sally went on to create a good life for herself. She was a very helpful person. She assisted with people with completing their immigration papers for many years and was a translator for the county court house for 7 years. Sally also worked at Anthony's clothing store as well as became a Tax preparer. In 1975 she married Jose Luis Espinoza and was married until he passed away. Sally was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Sally is survived by her loving family and numerous friends.
