Cesar was born on October 12, 1981, in Chihuahua, MX. to Sabino Gomez Jr. and Martha Figueiras Gomez. He and his family immigrated to the United States when he was in elementary school. He attended Fannin Elementary, Franklin Middle School, and Abilene High, where he met his lifelong friends. He married Nina Pena on May 10, 2003, and his greatest joy was at the births of his two beautiful daughters Marissa Rene and Mya Celeste Chavez. He enjoyed watching his daughters' activities and hanging out with his friends.
Cesar is survived by his wife and daughters, his mother, his sister Crystal Gomez and numerous extended family and friends.
We all loved Cesar with all our hearts. For most of his adult life, he struggled with addiction started by trusted physicians with the promise of healing. At times life was not always easy but the love of his family and friends kept him fighting for sobriety. This message is not to taint the memory of Cesar. His anger towards the greed of Big Pharma should be remembered as a warning that addiction can happen to the best of people. The illness of addiction leaves those left behind with more guilt and more questions of "what if," but in truth, there is no one to blame, not even Cesar.
