Charles Edward Clinton, 66 of Abilene, graciously accepted his invitation to be with our loving Father in Heaven on March 1, 2017. The family will receive guests on Sunday afternoon, March 5, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and the funeral service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South in Abilene, Texas.,
Charles was born on September 1, 1950, in Abilene Texas to Lonnie and Faye Clinton. He married the love of his life, Paulette Clinton, on April 4, 1970. Charles was a devoted husband, loving father, caring son and loyal brother. Although Charles' time was spent building his electric motor business, he always made his family a priority by serving as little league coach, band booster president, and spending countless hours fishing and skiing at the lake.
After his children were grown, he developed a love of golf. If he wasn't on the golf course with his brothers, nephews, and friends, you could catch him talking about the next course or his last tournament. Golf became his fourth love only after his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Lonnie Clinton.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Paulette Clinton, his mother Faye Clinton of Abilene, his son Mark Clinton and wife Kathleen of Reno, NV, his son, Chris Clinton and wife Senthea of Fort Stockton, TX, and daughter Teresa Clinton of Abilene, TX. He was blessed with nine beautiful grandchildren: Samuel Jones of OK, Leona Clinton of NV, Dakota Sullivan, Darienne Clinton, Sullivan Clinton, Brooke Sullivan, Chase Clinton, Jennifer Jones, and Sheila Clinton all of Texas, and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Sherman Clinton (brother) and wife Claudia of Abilene, Marietta Proctor (sister) of Abilene, Johnny Clinton (brother) and wife Jane of Garland, Clifford Clinton (brother) and wife Yvonne of Lipan, Dean Carter (brother-in-law) and wife Cherie, Don Horton (brother-in-law) and wife Gwinda, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
