Charles Coffey

Charles Charlie Coffey, 88, of Abilene passed away September 21, 2014 in Abilene.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 24 at 10:00 AM at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Charlie was born on December 2, 1925 to the late Lon Coffey and Clara Ritchie in Concho County, TX. Charlie married Shirley Lambert on April 20, 2006 in Abilene. He worked as a mechanic and was known as a man of few words but when he spoke people listened. Charlie dearly loved his family and friends and loved to fish.

Charlie is survived by his wife Shirley children, Hazel and husband David Lambert of Tuscola, C.W. Coffey of Abilene grandchildren, Gary Lambert, Larry Lambert, Duwanna Kluza, Dwain Boyd, Diana Boyd, Devin Coffey, Kenneth Coffey, Chad Coffey, Chase Coffey, Taylor Coffey numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Charlie was also preceded in death by his first wife Ida belle Witt daughter, Evelyn Boyd, siblings, Pauline Switzer, Mary Bates and Fred Coffey.
