Charles Griffin

Charles B Griffin, 84, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011, in Abilene. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends is from 3 5 PM on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Charles was born on April 24, 1927, in Clarksville, TX to Albertie Lindsey and Gordon Onest Griffin. He graduated from high school in Clarksville and later married the love of his life, Beryl G Goymuer in 1955. He joined the United States Air Force which led him all over the world serving in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. After 26 years he retired as a SMSGT, then went on to obtain 2 associates degrees from Cisco Junior College. He later retired from the Taylor County Sheriffs Department and the Justice Court Judge of Taylor County. Anyone close to Charles knew Loyalty above all else except honor.

Charles is survived by his wife, Beryl G Griffin his children, Gail Smith and husband Johnny of VA, Anita Deppe and husband Earl of CA, Marjorie Callaway of CA, and Bill Griffin of Abilene his grandchildren, Jason and Mark Smith, Devon and Amanda Griffin, Michael and Stephen Deppe numerous greatgrand children.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold Dean Griffin.
