Charles Wesley Hambrick passed away May 9, 2018. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM followed by a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South in Abilene. A funeral mass will be 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 826 Cottonwood in Abilene. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family asks that all visitation with the family take place during visitation hours at Elmwood Funeral Home and not the personal residence.
Charles was born July 18, 1936 to Wesley and Harriette Hambrick in Abilene, Texas. He was in the army and served his country for several years. He was married 31 blissful years with the love of his life, Cecilia. He worked at Cooper High School retiring from the Abilene School District after several years of employment. Charles was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church He was a wonderful man and loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother in law, Leon and Anita Diaz; one niece, Rosa Lee Hambrick; brother in law, Reyes Diaz; and three sister in laws, Isabel Martinez, Rosa Diaz, and Rosie Diaz.
Charles is survived by his wife, Cecillia Hambrick; two daughters, Lisa Rittenbury and April Hambrick; sister, Betty Williams and her husband Don; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and sixteen nieces and nephews, Maritn Diaz, Sylvia Diaz, Elizabeth Martinez, Angie Gallardo, Agustine Diaz Jr., Leon Diaz, Tina Zapata, Edward Diaz Jr., Anita-Julia Diaz, Raymond Morel, Regina Morel, Robin Morel, Julie Hogg, Dolin Williams, Charlotte Williams, and Donna Williams.
The pallbearers for the service will be Agustine Diaz, Donny Diaz, Matthew Trevino, Brandon Trevino, Edward Diaz, Leon Diaz, Tristan Pallarez, and Danny Diaz.
