Charles Hankins

Charles Leonard Hankins, 58, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2008 in his home.

Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy. 277 South with Aubrey Rodgers officiating.

Charles was born in Abilene, TX on November 6, 1949 to Leonard Edward Hankins and Mary Katherine Stevenson. His uncle and aunt, Kenneth and Jackie Hankins raised him. He graduated from Abilene High, where he set a school record in the mile that has only been broken recently. Charles served in the United States Marines.

He is survived by his sons, Charles Hankins and Brian Hankins; stepsons, Phillip Burns and Michael Burns; uncle and aunt, Kenneth and Jackie Hankins and their children, Eddy Don Hankins, Penney Westfall and Terry Hankins; three granddaughters; four step-granddaughters and two step-grandsons.
