Charles Hines

Charles L. Hines Sr., 67, of Abilene passed away Saturday December 20, 2014 in Abilene.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday December 30 at 1:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 11:00 at the funeral home.

Charles was born on February 5, 1947 in Vernon, Texas to the late Marlin Hines and Esterline Dabbs Hines. He married Mary E. Summers on March 8, 1968 in Hobart, Oklahoma. Charles worked in the environmental services department at Hendricks Medical Center for 29 years. He was a member of Holiday Hill Baptist Church. Charles loved people, loved to joke, loved to laugh and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Charles is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary son Charles Hines Jr. and wife Michelle of Abilene 3 brothers, Marlin Hines Jr. and wife Mary of Abilene, Peter Hines and wife Becky of Vernon, Trozey Black and wife Alice of Dimebox mother, Esterline Hines of Vernon sister, Ramona Herndon and husband Chase of Fort Worth.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Hines brother, Richard Hines and sister, Winona Wylie.
