Charles Dean Wilson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, godfather, uncle, cousin, nephew, and most of all friend, departed this life on Monday, June 12, 2017. He was born October 8, 1960 in Lubbock, Texas to Earnest Gene and Eddie Mae (Lett) Wilson. He graduated from Hale Center High School and was a semi-professional football player for numerous years. In 2008, he met his true love, Dollie Valencia in Abilene, Texas where he lived until his death. He was a member of New Horizon Ministries and enjoyed listening to God's word.
Charles was an avid sports fan, but especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was always available to provide loving advise and a listening ear, especially to the benefit of his nephews and nieces and he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his godchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his grandparents Earnest and Cora Lee Wilson and Ed and Lille Mae Lett; his parents Earnest and Eddie Mae Wilson; three sisters, Pamela Sue Smith, Edna Mae Wilson, and Glenda Jean Wilson; and step-daughter, Betty Jo Boyd.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory his wife Dollie; two brothers Curtis L. Smith (Rachel) of Abilene and Kenneth Wilson (Sheri) of Beeville; two sisters Frances Smith of Denver, Colorado and Linda Jones Wilson (James) of Amarillo; step-daughters Kendra Lewis, Laura Mae Boyd and Rachel Boyd; step-grandchildren Xzayvien Kocher, Kobe Stone, Chase Boyd, and Kiyonna Boyd; Goddaughters, Air'rena Rogers and Kali Dixon; 8 nephews and nieces, 6 great-nephews and great-nieces, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
