Christian Angel Cortez, 25, of Abilene, TX passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, in Amarillo, TX.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 US HWY 277 S, Abilene, TX 79606. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM at New Hope Church, 3122 S. Clack Abilene, TX 79606. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Angel was born on July 21, 1997, to Phillip Cortez and Alena Parra Cortez in Abilene, TX. He was a graduate of Cooper High School. He loved sports especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was always happy, funny, outgoing. He was a loving son, brother, and a great dad. Angel enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Family was everything to him. Angel attended New Hope Church and was a God-fearing servant who loved God with all his heart. He spoke how he was ready to lead his children to God.
Angel is survived by his loving parents, Phillip, and Alena Cortez; his daughter Irie Nicole Cortez-Diaz; grandparents, Rosabel Parra, Hortencia Parra, Condelario Cortez, Olivia Cortez; siblings, Damian Cortez, Phillip Cortez Jr, and Nathan Cortez; numerous aunts, uncles, extended family, and dear friends.
